Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) — School Based –
Employment Options: Part Time – Approximatley 30 hours per week
Location: West Side of Cleveland Suburbs
Schedule: School Hours
School Year / Contract: 26.27 School Year
Employment Type: W2 (Benefits Eligible Based on Hours)

Assignment Experience (What You Can Expect)

Typical caseload discussed before submission

Exposure to a variety of grade levels (PreK-12 opportunities)

1-2 building placement when possible
-
Collaborative teams including Occupational Therapists, Teachers, Intervention Specialists, Counselors, and Administration
Your Impact as a School-Based COTA
You'll help students develop the functional, sensory, and fine motor skills they need to succeed in the classroom and participate fully in school activities.
Working under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you'll play a critical role in helping students achieve their therapy goals and increase independence throughout the school day.
Core Responsibilities

Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist

Provide direct therapy services to students individually and in groups
-
Support students with fine motor, sensory, self-help, and functional skill development
-
Document student progress and maintain accurate records

Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
-
Assist with preparing therapy materials and adaptive equipment
-
Support student participation in academic, social, and daily living activities
-
Contribute to a positive, student-centered therapy environment
What We're Looking For
-
Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
-
Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential and state licensure (State Specific)
-
School-based or pediatric experience preferred, but newer professionals are encouraged to apply

Strong collaboration and communication skills
-
Passion for supporting student growth, independence, and success
